Categories: Shop with usHow to choose the best pasta format for every recipe!
Did you know that on average an Italian eats 26 kg of pasta each year? In the US the average is of only 8,8 kg per person!
Maybe because we eat it so often, we refined the art of choosing the right pasta for each sauce. Pasta is the perfect ingredient to create every day a different meal, even while you are staying home, and with the added perks of not spending a fortune!

Everything you need to know about Taralli!
Categories: Shop with usHow to choose the perfect Italian Taralli
Where to start….
You may have noticed that there is a great choice of taralli on our website and this is only to be expected since taralli have been around in Italy since 1400. The origin of these delicious savory snacks is lost in legends, as is the origin of their name, but it is certain that they became very popular, especially in the south of Italy in the regions of Puglia and Campania, and this is where most of the variations we love today were born.

Mother’s Day is celebrated each year on the second Sunday of May, which means...you should start planning something special for you Mamma on May 10th!
The perfect present for your Mamma (besides love):
“Are you hungry?” is the first question an Italian mum will ask you, so if you are living together during quarantine your surprise could be you cooking something special for her.
We know it is not easy to kick a mum out of her kitchen, so try organizing a surprise breakfast and beat her on timing getting ready before she even wakes up! ;)

COOKING WITH LAURA: EASTER COLOMBA
Categories: Cooking with LauraMy home-made Colomba recipe for Easter
“Colomba” means dove in Italian and the name comes from the unique shape of this precious dessert: this Easter cake is a symbol of peace and love and it is a must of the Italian Easter holidays.
This year I tried for the first time to bake a Colomba at home. The process is quite long and complex and made me appreciate even more the amazing artisanal Colomba by Borsari that we sell on BellaItalia, but it was an exciting experience and allowed me to personalize the recipe: my kids are not great fans of candied fruit so I tried making Colomba with chocolate chips, and they loved it!

COOKING WITH LAURA: PASTIERA
Categories: Cooking with LauraMy recipe for the Italian Easter Cake: bake your Pastiera at home!
It wouldn’t be Easter without Pastiera!
Legends say that the traditional Pastiera Napoletana was firs baked in a Neapolitan convent. The nuns wanted the cake to have the perfume of the flowers of the orange trees which grew in the convent’s gardens. What we know for certain is that the nuns of the ancient convent of San Gregorio Armeno were always considered to be geniuses in the complex preparation of the Pastiera, but after some years of experimenting in the kitchen, I perfected my recipe too!
