Italy is well known for Pasta but Rice is actually a super important ingredient in the Mediterranean Diet, something that is confirmed by the many variety produced in Italy and even more by incredible recipes like Risotto and Arancini!

Riso Arborio is a well-known product and is highly appreciated for its characteristics. It features big and pearled grains that increase their volume during cooking. This rice is suitable both for risotto and summer rice salads.
Riso Carnaroli is long, pearled colored and has a slightly sweet taste. Carnaroli is the king of Risotto! This variety will take a bit longer to cook and this makes it perfect for Risotto with mushrooms or Zefferano!
Riso Venere is a wholegrain black variety, also known as “Italian black rice”. Because of his name (that recalls the Ancient Greek Goddess Venus) was labeled as the “love rice” with alleged aphrodisiac properties.
The black color is completely natural deriving from the plant pigments and indicates the presence of antioxidant substances in the coating of the grain. Venere black rice is suitable for many preparations: it blends easily with shellfishes (shrimps, tropical prawn, etc…) and it’s great with black or red caviar, oysters and Champagne.
