La Molisana is not simply a pasta brand, it is the story of two families that for 4 generations and more than a century, selected and grinded only the finest Italian grains.
The beginning of the story
In the early 1900s the Pastificio La Molisana was born in the uncontaminated lands of Molise, founded by the Carlone family. In the same years, Domenico Ferro moved to Molise and inaugurated his first mill in 1910.
The two families kept expanding their businesses, surviving two World Wars and re-building their dreams each time. It is Giuseppe Ferro jr, Domenico's grandson, who, in 2011, has the brilliant intuition to acquire the historic La Molisana pasta factory. From this moment on, a single group can manage the entire pasta supply chain: from the grain of wheat to the spaghetti we bring to the table!
Pasta for all tastes!
Over the years, research has never stopped: La Molisana today offers all classic pasta shapes, from Penne, to Fusilli and Spaghetti - 6, 15, 17 depending on the thickness ... But also many iconic shapes like the unique Spaghetto Quadrato, invented in 2013, and the Cavatappi shape, perfect for a plate of Macaroni and Cheese.
In 2015 La Molisana celebrated its 100 years of activity with the line Pastificio Extra di Lusso formats, which you can also find on BellaItalia in the elegant packaging in the precious blue paper: Lasagne and Tagliatelle in this line remain unsurpassed!
In 2015 the semolina and flour line was born in which La Molisana fully expresses the cult of wheat: high protein value, traditional stone processing and no added additives: Extra-fine 00 Flour and the iconic Durum Wheat Semolina - ideal for Pizza and homemade pasta.
