Crostata is a typical Italian tart, consisting of a shortcrust pastry base with a – usually sweet – covering on top and thin strips of intertwined shortcrust pastry. It is usually consumed for breakfast, but other uses are also common, like at the end of a meal or as a snack.
The covering of this tart is made of apricot jam.
